Terms and conditions

The agreement between you and us when you download or buy Purgy, in plain English.

Last updated August 2026

1. Who these terms are with

"Purgy", "we" and "us" mean Purgy. "You" means the person or organisation using the software. By downloading, installing or buying Purgy you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not install it.

2. What Purgy is

A macOS application that finds files taking up disk space, sorts them by risk with their size and the reason each was flagged, and removes what you choose to clean. Requires macOS 12 Monterey or later; runs on Intel (x86_64) and Apple Silicon (arm64).

3. Your license

Buying Purgy gives you a perpetual, non-exclusive license to use Purgy, including future updates, on up to3 Macs that you own or control. There is no account and no renewal date. The license is yours to keep and does not expire.

You may not:

  • share, resell, sublicense or publish your license key;
  • use one license across more Macs than it covers;
  • decompile or reverse-engineer the software, except where law expressly permits it;
  • remove or alter licensing or attribution mechanisms.

We may deactivate a key that is shared publicly. Running out of activations because you replaced a Mac is not a breach of these terms. Email us and we will reset them.

4. The free trial

Purgy runs for 3 days as a full trial without payment details. When it ends the app stops cleaning until licensed. Nothing is deleted or altered, and your Mac is left as it was.

5. Price and payment

$20 USD, paid once. Payment is processed by a third-party provider acting as merchant of record; their terms govern the transaction. We never see or store card details. Tax may be added at checkout depending on where you are.

6. Updates

Updates are free for as long as you own Purgy. That covers bug fixes, refinements and new detection rules. There is no subscription, no renewal date, and no upgrade fee.

7. Refunds

Full refund within 7 days of purchase, no explanation required. See the refund policy, which forms part of these terms.

8. Your files are your responsibility

Purgy is built so that you decide what is removed. Clean now removes only items marked safe, such as caches and logs that rebuild on their own. Every item, with its size and reason, is available in the Review list before you clean. Your own data is locked so it cannot be selected automatically, and by default anything riskier you remove goes to the Trash, where Finder's Put Back restores it.

Even so, you are choosing what to delete. Keep backups. We cannot recover a file you emptied from the Trash, and neither can anyone else.

9. No warranty

Purgy is provided "as is". We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free any particular amount of space. How much it frees depends entirely on what is on your Mac. We make no claim that it makes your computer faster.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to Purgy is limited to the amount you paid for it. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost data, lost profits or lost time.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

11. Privacy

Purgy runs locally and what it scans never leaves your Mac. Theprivacy policy covers the exceptions and how this may change as the product grows.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, and the date at the top changes when we do. Changes are not retroactive. The terms you agreed to at the time of purchase govern that purchase.
